I recently discovered the pocket prints app. It is a (free to download) app that you can print your Instagram, Facebook or Camera roll photos directly from. They are based in Melbourne so it’s nice to support an Aussie company. When they offered me the chance to print some of my photos I jumped at it. Their photos come in several sizes… mini squares 7.5×7.5cm (20 prints for $15), Squares 10x10cm (24 prints for $16), Big Squares 15x15cm (16 prints for $20). They also do Rectangles, Metal Prints and Photo Blocks. Pretty good value don’t you think? Their quality is fantastic and delivery was super quick too.
When I received my prints I had such fun looking at them and using them as props in photos… you can see how I’ve used them here.
I really love the mini ones. They are super cute. I really wanted to use them somehow so I put my thinking cap on. I wanted to use some to decorate E’s room as there are not a lot of photos in there.
I decided I would try and make a garland to string above her bed…
How to make a mini photo garland…
Firstly, gather your supplies… you’ll need
- mini photos
- washi tape
Secondly, Lay out your string. Leave about 10cm before placing your first photo. I left a bit at the front as I wanted some dangling down once I had hung it. Have a look at the below photos to see what I mean. Then space out your photos leaving a few centimetres between each photo. You can have as much or as little as you want. I really depends on how big you want it and how many photos you want to use.
Then you need to cut short lengths of washi tape and use it to attach the photo to the twine. Do this until you have finished attaching all the photos then leave another 10cm before cutting the twine off the roll.
Such a cute use of the mini photos don’t you think? It’s really quick to make, cost effective and it looks really sweet above her bed. I think it’s a perfect way of personalising a space. Whether that be a little girls room, your office space, or anywhere you like really.
I had such fun creating this and personalising E’s space that much more.
I’ll be back later with a few more suggestions how you can use your prints to decorate your home.
What do you think? Would you use something like this to personalise your space? Have you printed your Instagram photos before?
